Just read a post on Frank Kerns blog about new rulings by the FTC. You can read all about it by clicking on the link at the bottome of this post.
If you’ve been subscribed to a few ‘newsletters’ or are on a marketers list, you’ve had some experience in recieving emails promoting a product. You will also be familiar with some of the outlandish claims of income on the ‘testimonies’.
Apparently the FTC have stepped in and delivered a slap. Heavy handed or has the industry become an unruly spoilt brat that needed to learn boundaries?
Personally I think it’s about time these kind of regulatory measures were introduced. There are far too many marketers promoting the super story of ‘newbie snags uber-dollars using secret European pipe cleaner method!” and putting disclaimers of ambiguity in micro print, while neglecting to mention that the newbie was 1 in 10,000 or that said newbie was actually the projected optimistic potential.
Anyhoo, the link will open in a new tab. Have a read.
As always, comments are welcome.
Ciao

I think they have been trying to crack down on this for some time, which is why so many marketers now have the disclaimer of ‘you many make no money from this or even more than is cited here….” I agree, it is time that the those who are openly fraudulent are called into question. -Norene
