Hey
I know it’s been a few days, things have been just a little hectic of late. Won’t go into the details, hopefuly things are back on an even keel now, and we’re full steam ahead again. One of the things that’s been occupying my time is this new FTC standard that’s in effect as from Dec 1st. It’s a very convoluted subject, that can be unravelled quite easily. I’ve just spent a long time listening to (not just hearing) a conversation between Jim Edwards and Mr Cleland of the FTC. The webinar is over an hour long and covers all the Q & A that I could possibly think of. Basically, all this speculation and hype about what the big bad FTC will do to you if your caught has spiralled into yet another hype. From what I gather there are essentially 3 types of marketers. Those that do not cross the line of correct representation, those that accidentally cross the line of representation, and those that live in mis-representation. If you’re one for the first group, you have nothing to worry about. If you’re in the second group, you will be notified by the FTC and corrective action can be taken. If you’re in the third group, you should be worried, and you shouldn’t be in this industry anyway.
Maybe this will put and end to those forced continuity programs that bait and switch you, by offereing something ‘Free’

This should clear a lot of things up for a lot of people.
